BACA’s remote learning provision is designed to ensure that students can continue learning when they are unable to attend school in person, whether due to school closures, exceptional circumstances, or individual absence. Across its schools, the trust aims to provide high-quality, meaningful, and ambitious remote education that keeps students on track with their learning.

Key features of the provision include:

• Online access to learning materials through platforms such as Google Classroom, where lesson resources, assignments, and guidance are uploaded by teachers. 
• A blended approach to remote learning, combining independent study, live or direct online teaching, written work, reading activities, and assessments. This approach is used across Aldridge schools when remote learning is required.
• Virtual Aldridge, a trust-wide online tutoring programme for students in Years 7–11. The programme provides free small-group English and mathematics tutoring, with weekly one-hour sessions delivered by specialist tutors. Sessions take place outside the normal school day and are designed to help students close learning gaps and improve GCSE outcomes.
• Additional support through digital learning tools and interventions aimed at identifying and addressing gaps in knowledge and understanding.
• If students have an EHCP, offsite external alternative provision (AP) may be deemed the most appropriate provision to meet their needs. This may be in-person provision with a local-authority approved AP or online.
