Year 8 Student Winning National District Final Representing Brighton

Year 8 Student, Winning National District Final, Representing Brighton!

The night before the game the boys and all our families stayed in a Holiday Inn next to the beautiful stadium, Stoke F, Bet 365. Had an amazing dinner with all the boys excited for the big day. Walking up the stairs to get to my room my legs start to shake in excitement. I tucked myself into bed trying to sleep through the nervousness. Just nodded off to sleep dreaming, stepping on the pitch and lifting that shiny cup.

The Big Day!

With the alarm waking me up early Tuesday morning it wasn’t long until the nerves kicked in with only 3 hours until the kick off. We sat down with the managers after having a healthy breakfast talking tactics ready for the game, then we headed to the ground. We got welcomed into the stadium, being allowed to walk around the pitch, getting a feel for the task ahead. Enormous butterflies, the whistle blows at the start of the game.

Game Time!

After a slow start for Brighton we managed to go into at half time, 1-1, Leeds being the better team. Half time, managers say some words to motivate us and to believe in ourselves. Second half we came out like a different team and played Leeds off the park. Scoring 5 goals in the second half to win 6-1. It allowed me as a Captain to lift the big cup!

Holding the cup above my head we started celebrating with our supporters! This has to be my best football achievement.
