Year 10 University of Brighton Printmaking Workshop - 6 June 2019
On Thursday 6 June 2019 a group of 14 Year 10 GCSE Art students concluded their printmaking master classes at the University of Brighton, on Grand Parade. This coincided with the final BA degree show, offering us a chance to see the amazing exhibition of all the different specialisms.
They started out with a tour of the printing department and a demonstration of how to use the wood cutting equipment and printing presses. The students showed their confidence in applying the skills learned at school this year in creating original designs based on natural forms. The tutors were very impressed with their resilience and aptitude.
After lunch, they took a tour of the photography at the Edward St. site before walking back to the main building to see the 3D design, fashion, painting, graphics and illustration exhibits. It was great to see how our students responded to such diverse artwork.
A huge thank you to everyone involved in the organisation and delivery at the University of Brighton and to student manager, Miss White, for accompanying us. We can't wait to see what our students produce during the rest of their studies at BACA.
