Students come together at BACA to prepare for Magna Carta Celebration at Brighton Dome
On Friday 24 April BACA hosted an exciting event linked to the 800th anniversary of the signing of the Manga Carta.
130 students from five local schools – BACA, Hove Park, Woodlands Mead, Cardinal Newman and Varndean – participated in a Magna Carta Education Day. Full of fun activities, the day focused on helping the students prepare for their performance in the Magna Carta Celebration with the Brighton Festival Youth Choir and Brighton Festival Chorus at the Brighton Dome on 11 June.
In the morning the students took part in a carousel of activities:
- Freedom – a Music Workshop led by Esther Jones from Brighton Festival Youth Choir
- Liberty – a Drama Workshop led by Jonty Boustead and Angela El-Zeind from Chichester Festival Theatre
- Justice – a Law Workshop led by barrister Tom Godfrey
In the afternoon all of the students came together on BACA’s main stage to rehearse for the performance at the Brighton Dome. You can find out more about the performance and book tickets here.
The students enjoyed the day and are incredibly excited to perform at the Brighton Dome!
