Celebrating 4 Years of Increased Achievement and Progress
We are delighted to share this year's stunning results with students, parents and the wider community. We are celebrating our fourth consecutive year of improving GCSE results, with many key measures breaking BACA records. Mathematics results are at an all-time high for a third year, and in line with national figures. The English department saw remarkable success with 82% of students securing A*-C.
In addition to the continual increase in the number of students achieving 5+ A*-C grades including English and Maths (50%), students were awarded a record number of A* and A grades (63 across the board), and 24% of students achieved 8+ GCSE grades C or higher.
Amongst the students celebrating significant achievements are:
Lubna Rahman who achieved 10 grades at A*-C including 4 grades at A or A* and 6 grades at B+
Rory Afrizal Hayes who secured 9 grades at C or above including 4 grades at A or A* and 3 B+ grades
Marley Reynolds who secured 8 grades at C+
Dean Wakely who secured 9 grades at C+ including 5 grades at a B+
Principal Dylan Davies is incredibly pleased with the results, “This is another great news story for BACA and we are very proud of the individual success stories of our students; the English and maths improvements and the progress shown by our students really tell a story of the committed and hard-working students, teachers and staff at our Academy. We are keen to develop and further this success for all of the students coming through in the other year groups. This is a huge achievement and a significant stepping stone for the story of BACA’s success over the last four years, well done everybody!”
Peter Kyle, Chair of Governors for BACA, added: “Governors of BACA stand in awe of student achievement revealed by today’s results. With more than 100% improvement in English and Maths attainment since the academy opened and a stunning 10% gain in English A*-C this year alone, the case is made for being one of the most exciting and ambitious places to study in our city.
Our thanks go to the students, staff and the leadership team who work so hard to deliver such exciting results year after year.”
