NAPLIC Conference in Birmingham

Mrs OddHayward, (Head of Swan Centre),  traveled to Birmingham with two former Swan Centre and BACA students Mo Soliman (17) and Riahan Miah (20) to speak at the NAPLIC 2018 conference.

NAPLIC is a national organisation of professionals supporting language and communication development including Speech and Language therapists and specialist teachers and other professionals working with children and young people with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) .

Mo and Raihan answered questions, with two other adults, Elizabeth and Ben, in an hour long session with 225 delegates.  The young adults received a standing ovation having spent an hour talking about the specific support they had received at school to help them with their DLD, advice they would give to their younger selves, their current study and their plans for the future.

Mo and Raihan were quoted directly on the NAPLIC twitter feed, which was trending 7th in the UK on Saturday.  We are very proud of them, their contribution on the day and all they have achieved.
