Letter from BACA Principal Dylan Davies

Letter from BACA Principal Dylan Davies

Dear students, my colleagues, parents and carers

I have been Principal of Brighton Aldridge Community Academy for the last four years and within this time we have, together, achieved many great things.  I am very proud of all we have worked on as a team, the academic achievements of our students, Ofsted’s recognition that the care, guidance and support for our students’ wellbeing and safety is outstanding and the innovative partnerships with employers that we have developed.  BACA’s partnerships: Latest TV, our Brighton Digital Media Academy, Sussex Cricket, the Sir Rod Aldridge Cricket Centre, KSD, KSD Aldridge Construction Academy, Team Academy from Finland and most recently the creative and exciting BIMM and BRICTT (music and performing arts) partnerships. These partnerships have been driven by the very powerful vision to create opportunities for all our students to “believe they can“ and I truly believe we have together produced something very special.

I am writing today to tell you that I will be leaving my post of principal of Brighton Aldridge Community Academy at Easter to take up a new role as Her Majesty’s Inspector of Schools.  It has been a privilege to work with students, staff and the community to develop and further the academy.

I am sure the new principal will see the amazing opportunities we have developed to improve the life chances of all the young people at BACA and I will look forward to following the future success of this truly innovative school community.

I thank you all for your support over the last four years and wish you all the very best.  Before I leave at Easter, I will be ensuring that our current year 11 and 13 students are fully prepared for their public exams and continue working with you all to further develop the school.

My heart felt thanks to one and all for helping me lead this amazing school, keep up the great work together!

Yours faithfully

Dylan Davies
