Junior Leadership Training
On Thursday 25 February BACA’s Junior Leadership Team welcomed a group of year 10 students from Hauptschule Langerfelds, German School. BACA students got to practise their ambassador skills before taking part in a range of team building and leadership activities hosted by Brighton University.
With a special focus on working together and positive communication, the group analysed what makes a good leader, worked as a team in the marshmallow challenge to build the tallest tower and used their communication skills to ensure our German guests were able to fully take part. In additional the group enjoyed a tour of the University's Falmer campus led by University student ambassadors.
This was a great opportunity for our students to not only develop their team building skills but to also think about what makes a positive role model and a good ambassador, as well as how to be effective as a team and start to think about other skills they would like to develop as junior leaders in the future. The day provided great evidence for those students in the Junior Leadership Team working towards a Bronze SSAT award for Student Leadership.
