Congratulations to our Year 11's on results day!
Brighton Aldridge Community Academy Principal Bob Speight congratulated BACA's Year 11 this morning saying: "Although exams were cancelled this year, the grades the students receive today are theirs to be very proud of. The grades are based on teacher assessments and have gone through a very rigorous process of moderation. They are the result of years of study, hard work and commitment and our Year 11s can take great pride in their achievements."
Among students collecting their results Aisha Harland admitted: "I am so relieved! This whole experience has been so stressful and scary but my teachers have been really supportive and I am happy with my results." Aisha successes covered a broad range of subjects from English and French to Music and Sport, and included 8s in maths and science.
The impact of recent changes to GCSE grading on both students and parents meant some nerves for the Al-Saedi family too. Student Dimah Al-Saedi was celebrating a wide range of strong grades across the sciences, sport, maths, English, French and Arabic. She said: "I have been quite nervous but have done well so I can finally relax. "
Mum added "We were crying last night as the guidance around results over the last few days has been so unclear! We can finally relax! I am very proud of what she has achieved."
Alongside success in a range of GCSEs Ben Fitzgerald also achieved distinctions in Creative Media and Sport. He said: "I am really happy as I have done really well! I am going on to BACA College to study Maths, Business and History and to join the Aldridge Football Academy."
Zainab Mohamad was congratulated by Principal Bob Speight on achieving six Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and a distinction. A strong scientist Zainab's top grades included biology, physics and chemistry.
Lani Beal results included a top A* in Child Development. She said: "The last few weeks have been so nerve wracking but I've done really well! Thank you to everyone at BACA for all of their support and I can't wait to be back in September at BACA College to study A-Level Psychology and Childcare."
Congratulations to all Year 11 students across the UK today!
