Congratulations Year 13s On Results Day

We are very proud to share the success of the BACA Year 13 cohort who have all successfully passed their Level 3 courses, achieving some exceptional results. For the fifth year in succession we have a 100% pass rate with 70% of passes in BTECs being at top Distinction* or Distinction grades.

Courses with particular successes included Sport and Sport Science, for which 75% of entries were graded Distinction*, and Creative Media, for which 67% of students secured at least a double Distinction. No student was awarded less than a Merit for these courses.

All students achieved the grades they needed to pursue their chosen destination, whether further study, employment or an apprenticeship. 50% of the cohort are heading to university, either in September or after a gap year.

Will Sheffield did extremely well, achieving Distinction* in all of his subjects. Will has combined his academic studies with the Aldridge Cricket Academy and being selected for the Sussex First Team squad this season. He is taking a year out to play cricket overseas, and has offers from both Durham and Brighton universities.

Nadja Pereira said “I’m really pleased with my results and am looking forward to starting my History degree at the University of Brighton.”

Keeran Head was especially pleased with his Creative Media results and is going on to study Design for Digital Media, also at Brighton.

Other university destinations include Bath Spa, Roehampton and Chichester.

Principal Bob Speight commented, “The students have achieved a really impressive set of outcomes. We have developed a really exciting and distinctive post-16 provision at BACA. These young people have made the most of all the opportunities on offer done themselves and BACA College proud.”
