BACA Students serve Christmas dinner to local elders at The Bevy

BACA students brought festive cheer to local residents on Thursday 11 December as they cooked Christmas dinner at The Bevy.  The meal was served to people over 60 from the Moulsecoomb, Bevendean and Bates estates.

It was a significant occasion as it helped mark the opening of The Bevy – the first co-op pub on a housing estate in the UK, and a project that community members have dedicated the past four years to bringing to life. Students prepared a Christmas roast turkey with all of the trimmings followed by desert and coffee in The Bevy’s community kitchen alongside Ricky Hodgson, ‘Chef’ at BACA.

The Bevy opened officially to the public Friday 12 December.
