BACA Presents Cheque to 'Friday Friends'

BACA Presents Cheque to Friday Friends

The BACA Junior Leadership team’s special visit to The Bevy

On Friday 8 March, BACA community representative, Christine Brady and two members of the BACA Junior Leadership Team, Millie M and Amy P visited The Bevy to present a cheque of £280 to Friday Friends, a local community support group for lonely and vulnerable elderly people.  The money raised enables the group to go on trips they would not have been able to afford to fund themselves.

BACA students had organised a range of fundraising events including a non-school uniform day and a cake sale.  BACA parents, carers and staff all joined together for a Parent Forum Quiz night which also raised money towards this very worthy cause.

Millie and Amy spent some time talking to the group, who said how thrilled they were to be connected to BACA students and staff, and how touched they were that students had been fundraising for them.  The BACA Junior Leadership team will continue to organise activities to support their community including a ‘Friday Friends’ visit to the school.  Both students spoke in length with Mrs Brady afterwards about future ideas to help support the community and how expressed touched they had been by the stories shared.
