Breakfast Club

BACA’s Breakfast Club runs from 7.30-8.20am before each school day.  It is open to ALL BACA students and provides a free breakfast in thanks to our partnership with Magic Breakfast. Students are offered their choice of cereals, bagels with various toppings and juice or milk.

Magic Breakfast is a UK charity that provides schools with free healthy breakfasts.  Together with a strong network of corporate partners, individuals and schools they ensure that over 16,000 children in 450 schools have the best possible start to each school day.  BACA is the first secondary school in the South East involved in Magic Breakfast and we are proud to have partnered with this fantastic charity that enables us to offer free breakfast for all of our students.

Through the breakfast club students are offered the best possible start to each day.  Eating breakfast improves concentration and learning, and ultimately helps students to achieve great results.

BIOMETRIC

An update to our biometric trust e-cashless system supplied by Civica has been installed; we require the consent of at least one parent in order that the biometric information of your child can be processed. Please be assured that this information remains within the school and that the biometric information taken is an algorithm and not an actual fingerprint.

If you choose not to have your child registered, the school will provide alternative methods of identification such as a Smart Card. The preference of the school is to use biometrics as this is more secure and faster than any other method of identification and we appreciate your co-operation with regards to this matter.

All students that do not use Biometric will be issued with a plastic card when they start at the Academy, which can be used to pay for food in the school canteen. The Biometric or cards can either be topped up with money via the Squid online system or by using the cash loading machine which is located in the Atrium next to the lift. It is the student’s responsibility to keep their card safe, replacement cards can be issued at the cost of £5 for each replacement. The canteen does not take any cash to pay for food so it is important that students remember to bring their cards daily to school.

If you have not given consent and wish to do so, please contact the school office at office@baca-uk.co.uk
