Transition from Primary to Secondary School

Transition

Primary to Secondary School

BACA student in lessonAt BACA we recognise that the transition from primary to secondary school is an exciting time, but can also be a daunting one for both students and parents alike.

To help with the transition from primary school we have an extensive programme in place coordinated by the our designated transition team.  They ensure that all students receive a positive, informative and motivational experience before starting at BACA

We want to make sure this significant step in your child’s education is smooth and supported.  As a school we aim to help students:

  • Develop new friendships as they start their new school
  • Settle well into secondary life by offering many activities, after school clubs and revision groups
  • Understand and adjust to the many different routines associated with secondary school
  • Enjoy studying the variety of new subjects at secondary school and meeting new friends

Year 7 students are supported by Year 8 transition buddies, who are trained in Year 7 to support the new Year 7 students.

If you have accepted a place from BACA for your child to start in September, please download and fill out the Year 7 Admissions form below and return to the main reception, alternatively, send your completed form via our office email.

UNIFORM - SUSSEX UNIFORMS

We are partnered with Sussex Uniforms so that parents and students can purchase uniforms online.  Please visit the Sussex Uniforms website to order.

Try to avoid the rush and order early.  During June, the shop is quieter and this is the best time to buy in preparation for September.

Please download our uniform policy for further information HERE.
