Tree Planted in Memory of Ms Glenys Beda

On Wednesday 22 February, the Swan Centre and BACA Staff, Students and family attended the planting of a Rowan (Mountain Ash) Tree in memory of Ms Beda. Ms Glenys Beda was a Communication Assistant in the Swan Centre and worked in the breakfast club at BACA. The memory of her passing in December 2016 is one that will stay with the Academy for many years to come.

Riaz and Milo, joined by Glenys' daughters Honor and Grace helped to plant the tree with Pat in the flowerbeds behind the Swan Centre. This followed with some time to celebrate Glenys’ life with food and drink and a chance for the students, staff and family including Glenys' sons Noah, Zac and Nathan and her brother in law Trevor, to talk and write memories and messages of Glenys, which they will then tie to the tree in remembrance.

We are planting this tree in memory of Ms Beda and we are very glad to have known her. She was such a colourful, kind and happy person. She found the good in everyone and everything.

When we come to this tree, we will be able to remember her here. We will be able to write her messages and tie on colourful balloons and ribbons in her memory.

We are all so very sad that she has died. We will miss her and though we will not see her again, we are so happy that we knew her and that she was a part of our lives. We will remember all the happy moments we shared with her and all the things we loved about her.
