When should we apply?
The Academy is offering places for up to 180 year 7 students in September. Completed preference forms need to be received by Brighton & Hove School Admissions by 3pm on Friday 31 October.
What are the years of entry?
Our most common years of entry are year 7 and beginning 6th Form. However, we also consider applications for entry into years 8, 9 and 10 if places are available.
How will I know if the Academy is right for my child?
There are many opportunities for you to find out what BACA has to offer and whether this is the right place for your child’s educational journey. Our open events provide you with the opportunity to come and have a look around the academy and to meet current students and staff. We also provide the academy prospectus and showcase the academy, its successes and achievements here on our website as well as on Facebook and Twitter.

What do I do if my child is ill?
Please telephone the office (01273 691191), every morning that your child is unwell so that we can mark their absence.
How do I find out if my child is progressing?
Parents are invited to parents’ evenings throughout the year and an annual formal written report is provided to parents. You are also welcome to make an appointment to discuss your child’s progress at any time in the academic year.
Do you have to take up an extracurricular activity?
It is not compulsory to participate in the extracurricular activities that BACA has to offer. However, students are encouraged to participate in these activities to help them develop a well-rounded set of skills. Students can choose to join our many sport teams, along with a number of clubs including; cycling, fitness, guitar, music, drama, creative writing, business, ICT and a range of homework revision clubs.
